Gold Dust Kettle Corn began operations in 2016 and is owned by Mike Lagsding from Grand Island, NE. Mike began the company with one single popcorn flavor, kettle corn. In 2022 we established 1829 LLC making Mike and Rhoda Shurigar partners in the business.

We began selling our kettle corn at events and farmer’s markets. Throughout our travels, we found grocery and convenience stores that wanted to carry our product. Being new to the distribution end of the business, distributors started to become interested in carrying our product in their inventory of products.

Starting out in a one room licensed kitchen with kettle corn and the demand increasing daily, we felt the crunch. We had to limit the events and hire employees. Nerves were on edge to say the least. What a big, but necessary step forward.

All flavors of our corn are popped in small, handmade batches by one of our five employees. It is then bagged and boxed according to each individual order. Our Sales and Marketing Director, Rhoda, is our primary point of contact for orders and receipts, while Mike establishes new accounts and delivers our product. We pride ourselves on being a small, family-owned business that delivers quality products.
